THE ADVENTURE CREDIT
The Adventure Credit System
Adventure credits are the currency of the JoyRidr exchange. They're simple, transparent, and designed to keep the community fair.
HOW CREDITS WORK IN PRACTICE
You book a 3-night stay at a member's lake cabin. That costs 3 adventure credits plus any cleaning fee the host has set. The cleaning fee is paid via Stripe. The credits are deducted from your balance immediately.
You can also pay cash for any booking — useful if you've used your adventure credits for the year.
Credits require at least one approved asset AND a met share contribution. If you unpublish all your assets or fall behind on your share contribution, you'll be restricted to cash-only booking until resolved.

Tier 1 vs. Tier 2
Every asset on JoyRidr is classified into one of two tiers based on its estimated value. Your tier determines your share contribution range — the number of nights per year you make your asset available to members.

HOW YOUR SHARE CONTRIBUTION IS SET
Your rate relative to the median.
JoyRidr calculates your share contribution by comparing your asset's nightly rate against the median nightly rate for your category. If your rate is above the median, you share fewer nights. If it's below, you share more — keeping the exchange fair for everyone.
Your tier sets the floor and ceiling of that range. A Tier 1 asset priced well above its category median might only share 10 nights. A Tier 2 asset priced below its median could share up to 40 nights. Use the Sharing Estimator below to see your estimated range before you list.
Tier classification is confirmed by JoyRidr during the asset approval process. You'll be asked to provide value documentation (purchase price, appraisal, or comparable market data) when you submit your listing.

Stripe Identity Verification
Every full member verifies their government-issued ID through Stripe Identity. No anonymous members.
Admin-Reviewed Assets
Every asset is reviewed and approved by our team before it goes live. We check photos, value documentation, and listing accuracy.
Bidirectional Reviews
Both guests and hosts leave reviews after every completed booking. Reviews are visible on public profiles.
Two-Tier Asset Classification
Assets are classified as Tier 1 ($75K+ value) or Tier 2 (<$75K) during approval. Tier determines your share contribution range.
Dispute Resolution
Members can raise disputes on any active or recently completed booking. Our admin team reviews and issues final decisions.
Share Contribution System
Members who don't meet their share contribution lose adventure credit booking access until it's fulfilled. This keeps the exchange fair for everyone.

Founding Membership is a one-time designation. The members who join during this pre-launch window lock their rate permanently — free for life, while the platform is still being built. Once this window closes, it closes for good. The price becomes $495/year for everyone who follows, and increases as each tier fills.

No — your 24 adventure credits are available the moment your membership is active. You can book your first adventure before a single guest has ever set foot on your asset. The exchange is balanced over time across the whole network, not one-for-one with your own bookings.
JoyRidr compares your asset's nightly rate to the median rate for your category. If your rate is above the median, you share fewer nights. If it's below, you share more — keeping the exchange fair for everyone. Your tier (Tier 1 or Tier 2) sets the floor and ceiling of that range. Use the Sharing Estimator above to see your personal estimate.
Any night a JoyRidr member books your asset using adventure credits counts toward your share contribution. Nights you block for personal use or rent on other platforms do not count. Once you hit your annual share contribution, you're done for the year — no more sharing required.
You can still book any asset in the network by paying the nightly rate in cash — useful if you've used your credits for the year or want to book something extra. Cash bookings don't affect your credits or your share contribution.
Credits reset annually. Unused credits from the current year do not roll over — this keeps the network balanced and ensures everyone is actively participating in the exchange. The best strategy is to plan your 24 nights and use them.
Absolutely. Your personal calendar is yours to manage. Any dates you block are completely off-limits to JoyRidr bookings and do not count toward your share obligation. Only the nights you make available to the network count.
Yes — JoyRidr is designed to fill the nights your other listings don't. You sync your calendars so there are no double-bookings, and JoyRidr works alongside your existing setup. You keep all revenue from your other platforms — JoyRidr doesn't touch that.
Most members coming from platforms like Outdoorsy, Turo, or Airbnb already carry peer-to-peer rental coverage that extends to JoyRidr exchanges. For members new to listing, we are developing a dedicated insurance solution built specifically for the club — with details confirmed before launch. In the meantime, you can require damage deposits or waivers at the time of booking.
Every asset in the network is reviewed and approved before it can be booked. We set a Club Standard — a minimum bar for quality, condition, and experience — and assets that don't meet it don't make the list. Members also build ratings over time, so the best assets rise to the top.
You can cancel your membership at any time. Any unused adventure credits expire at cancellation. If you've already booked stays, those are honoured through completion. There are no exit fees — we'd rather earn your loyalty than lock it in.
